1. Who we are and what this covers

MazeRank is operated by Nuno Miguel Duarte Unip. Lda (VAT PT515185086), Rua Dr. Gomes Leal 3A, 2560-331 Torres Vedras, Portugal. These terms govern your use of the MazeRank website, dashboard, emails, PDF reports, API and MCP server (together, the "Service"). By creating an account you agree to them. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or an agency, you confirm that you can bind that organisation.

2. What the Service does

MazeRank measures how visible a business is in AI search. For each website you add, we ask AI engines the questions people ask about businesses like yours and record whether, where and how your business is mentioned, which competitors appear and which sources are cited. Depending on your plan, the engines include ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude.

We also read the public pages of your website and public business listing data from Google to build a business profile, suggest questions to track and produce a list of fixes. We do not log in to your site and we do not change anything on it.

Results are shown in the dashboard and sent as weekly emails and monthly PDF reports. You can also reach your data through our API and MCP server, and you can optionally connect Google Analytics 4 to see the visits AI assistants send to your site.

3. AI answers are a measurement, not a guarantee

AI engines change their answers often, and the same question can get different answers from one run to the next. Our figures are a sample of those answers at the time we checked. We do not control the engines, and we do not promise any ranking, mention, traffic or business result. Suggestions and fixes are recommendations; you decide whether to apply them.

4. Accounts, teams and agencies

An account is either a Business account (for your own websites) or an Agency account (for websites you manage for clients). You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your password and API keys confidential, and for everything done under your account. You can invite team members with a role; remove people who should no longer have access.

If you are an agency, you confirm that your clients have authorised you to add their websites and to connect their services (such as Google Analytics). For your clients' data, you are the controller and Nuno Miguel Duarte Unip. Lda acts as your processor under the Data Processing Addendum.

5. Fair use

Each plan includes scheduled checks (weekly, plus daily checks of key questions and monthly repeat runs where your plan includes them). On top of the schedule, you can start up to 4 manual full runs per website per calendar month. There are no extra run credits.

Each check costs us real money with the AI providers. If a website's usage goes far above what is normal for its plan, we may reduce scheduled checks to key questions on fewer engines, pause daily and repeat runs, or contact you about a plan that fits. We may also rate-limit the API and MCP server to keep the Service stable for everyone.

6. Your responsibilities

Only add websites you own or are authorised to manage. Use the Service in line with our Acceptable Use Policy and with the terms of any service you connect, such as Google Analytics.

7. Fees, billing and renewal

Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Prices are shown in euros and exclude VAT; VAT is added at checkout where it applies. Payments are processed by Stripe, by card or SEPA Direct Debit.

When you change your plan, quantity or number of client websites during a period, the difference is prorated by Stripe and shown on your next invoice. We announce price changes at least 30 days in advance; they apply from your next renewal.

8. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from Billing in the dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for and then does not renew. Deleting a website ends its subscription straight away. Full details, including refunds, are in our Cancellation and Refunds policy.

9. Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and we let you know. While a payment is overdue, we may pause checks and reports until it is paid. If it stays unpaid, the subscription ends.

10. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. AI engines and data providers can change or stop their services; when that happens we may replace an engine or method, or stop offering it, and we will tell you about material changes.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, puts the Service or others at risk, or stays unpaid. Where reasonable, we warn you first and give you time to fix the problem.

12. Intellectual property

You keep all rights to your content and data. We keep all rights to MazeRank, its software and its design. You may use and share the reports we produce for your websites, including with your clients. AI answers quoted in the Service belong to their respective providers or rightsholders and are shown for measurement purposes.

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost business, and our total liability under these terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and of the European Union. Disputes are subject to the courts of Portugal, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that apply where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We announce material changes by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel.
